Ribeye Steaks in Red Wine Sauce
Ingredients
2 T. vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3/4 cup dry red wine
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 tsp. soy sauce
3 T. butter cut in 3 pieces
1 T. parsley
salt and pepper
Methods/steps
1. Pat steaks dry; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
2. Heat 1 T. oil in a heavy skillet over high heat until it shimmers.
3. Saute steaks turning once, about 6-8 minutes per side for medium-rare.
4. Transfer to a large plate and cover with foil.
5. Pour off fat from skillet; add remaining T. oil and saute garlic over med-high heat about 30 seconds.
6. Add wine and boil, stirring, about 2-3 minutes.
7. Add water, soy sauce, and meat juices from plate and boil until reduced by half, about 3-4 minutes.
8. Reduce heat to medium-low and whisk in butter, one piece at a time, until slightly thickened.
9. Stir in parsley and pour sauce over steaks to serve.
