Bolognese Sauce

Ingredients
1 lb. HAEN LEAN GROUND BEEF
1 lb. HAEN GROUND PORK
8 slices HAEN CANADIAN BACON chopped
2 T. olive oil
1 onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
½ lb. fresh mushrooms sliced
2 carrots, shredded
1 stalk celery chopped
1 can (28 oz.) Italian style plum tomatoes
16 oz. tomato sauce
6 oz. tomato paste
½ cup dry white wine
1 cup chicken stock
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried oregano
salt and pepper
cooked pasta

Methods/steps
1. Heat oil in a large skillet; sauté Canadian bacon, onion and garlic; set aside.
2. In a large saucepan, brown beef and pork; drain.
3. Stir in bacon mixture, mushrooms, carrots, celery, tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, wine, stock, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
4. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
5. Serve sauce over hot pasta
